Bridge, Frank - 2 Pieces H 56a and H 82 for Viola and Piano - Stainer and Bell Publication Review
English composer Frank Bridge's music has been sadly underrated. A student of Charles Villiers Stanford, he in turn became the teacher of Benjamin Britten. His style is difficult to characterize: his early works are Romantic in sound and scope, while the later ones are more dissonant and structured. Two Pieces for Viola and Piano is made up of two separate works for viola and piano: "Pensiero" from H. 53, and "Allegro Appassionato" (H. 82), both written between 1905 and 1908. This edition for viola and piano is published by Stainer & Bell. Difficulty: ASTA grade 4 Click here to learn more about the Apprentice and ASTA Sheet Music Difficulty Ratings.
